Vice 2 by Urban Decay (with swatches)

I got a nice little surprise this week when somebody treat me to the new Urban Decay Vice palette. I'd been eyeing it up online, just out of curiosity but I didn't really intend on buying it. At £42 it's a bit too pricey for me, so I was really overwhelmed when my friend decided to get me it.

Everything about this palette is beautiful; from the outer packaging to the shadows themselves, it really is a little box of luxury. All 20 eye shadows are brand new from Urban Decay and range from deep, shimmery purples to soft, light neutrals. The palette also comes with a double-ended, duo fibre "good Karma brush" which is fab. That's one of the things I love about Urban Decay - their palettes come with applicators you can actually use!

I was blown away by how pigmented these shadows are. I though some of the glitter-based shades like Shellshock would need building up but I was so wrong. All of the shades glide on smoothly and are really soft and velvety. X-Rated is particularly beautiful and I don't own anything like it - definitely going to be experimenting with it a lot.

Row 1: Smokeout, Lovesick, Shellshock, Coax and X-Rated

Row 2: Prank, Madness, Strike, Stash and Poison
Row 3: Radar, Damaged, Voodoo, Betrayal and Derailed

Row 4:  Dope, Toxic, Habit, Ambush and Rewind

I love how much variety there is with this palette. There are so many looks you can create, both dramatic and natural. I never had a look at the original Vice palette so I'm not sure how this one compares. I do own a few other Urban Decay palettes though, like the Naked and Smoked and the shadows in the Vice 2 seem to be better quality and a nicer formula.

If you've been contemplating purchasing this gorgeous little palette, I'd definitely recommend that you do. After all it's limited edition and I have a feeling they're gunna be snapped up pretty quickly ;) x

Until next time,

  1. Ahhh, so lucky of you to have a friend gift this palette for you!! :D
I agree, it is really pricey, but man, pigmentation is intense. Plus, there's a whole variety of shades to mess around with, so that's always fun to play around with!

    2. Shellshock, Strike and Toxic! I managed to swatch some of these shades in Sephora today, and ughhhh, do want, but I don't wear eyeshadow too often!

    3. Yeahh shellshock is stunning! Love toxic too, but didn't think strike was as pigmented as the others. I've only just started wearing "colours" on my eyes instead of sticking to neutrals. Maybe ask for it for Christmas? ;) x
