Pixiwoo Course: Day 5

Yesterday was my 5th and final day on the course. We were allowed to create any look we wanted so I decided to give drag make up another go. I paired up with Shannon-Lee who was really patient with me and let me turn he into this:

It's still a long way from being perfect but I've definitely made improvements since my first attempt at drag. I went for a pop of yellow on the lid, which I contrasted with bright purples/pinks through the crease and underneath the eye. I applied a mix of Skin Base foundations to purposefully make Shannon's complexion lighter. I then went for an extreme contour, using cream concealers to create strong lines around the cheekbones, forehead, hairline and jawline. Unfortunately it didn't show up well on camera but in real life it was pretty intense.

I also blanked out Shannon's eyebrows with glue, a mix of MUA and Kevin Aucoin concealers and loose powder. I think I did a pretty good job with covering up her brows, considering they were fairly dark. I kept the "new brows" simple, with a traditional drag/20's inspired thin, arched brow. For the lips I used a dark blue eye liner from MAC (can't remember the name) as a lip liner, concentrating it in the corners. I then applied Apocolips from Illamasqua, which I've been dying to use for ages. I then glitter-fied everything because what's drag without glitter!?

Sam gave me lots of tips an advice for blending, and neatening the make up which really helped me. Nic's mum and kids also paid her a visit during the session! Her babies are absolutely adorable. After me and Shannon both completed our looks, I took some photos of the studio.

The Map & Polaroid Wall
Everyone that comes on the course has a polaroid of themselves put on the wall next to the map, with their names and email addresses written on it. We then put a sticker on the map, to show where we come from. Cute!

The day soon came to end, much to my dismay. Just before we got our certificates, took photos and said our goodbyes, I had a chat with Nic which has really encouraged and motivated me. She gave me great advice and helped me to feel better about a lot of things that have been holding me back and worrying me. So thank you Nic! Sam, Nic and Stacey have been so helpful and kind towards me all week and it honestly means so much to me.
I look so awkward lol!

I'm now sat in a cafe at Norwich train station, waiting to go back home. I'm so sad this experience is already over but I know it's something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I never even imagined that I'd get the chance to do something like this or get to meet Pixiwoo. So many people say it, but they really are even more stunning in real life. I've had the most amazing time on the course and would definitely recommend it if you love make up as much as I do.
