January Favourites 2015 | Beauty

The first month of the year is already done and dusted - can you believe it? Since my new years resolution post, I have been actively setting goals for myself and really trying to achieve them. Although I haven't blogged as often as I'd hoped in January I've definitely been working hard in other parts of my life. I have quite a few favourites to share with you this month so grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy.

First up is the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint. This is a good heavy duty concealer and seriously blows Benefit's Boing out the water - not bad considering it's about a third of the price. I have been using it daily and although it's not perfect it has definitely made a difference to my dark circles and surprisingly feels quite light on the skin. My only qualms are that it doesn't oxidise very well and there are only two shades! If you have dark skin then there's no chance you could get away with this - a bit discriminative Boots!

I've been into 'Spice' shades recently and NYX's 'Spice' blush is particularly lovely. It looks like my natural flush colour with a bit more warmth and is great for winter. It smells a bit cheap but don't let this put you off - it really is gorgeous! I definitely need to try out more NYX blushes.

Towards the end of 2014 I realized my Ben Nye banana powder was making my dark circles look green! In January I switched it out for Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in 'Silk Beige' and definitely prefer it. It matches my skin tone perfectly and keeps things in place a bit better. I also like running this over my eyes on top of the primer, to keep oiliness at bay.

Speaking of primer, I have been loving Lime Crime's Eyeshadow Helper for a few months now. Not only is the packaging adorable (who could resist rose gold and lilac?) the product is fantastic. It reduces oiliness, doesn't roll off the skin and generally keeps eyeshadow in place brilliantly - dare I say I prefer it over Urban Decay's Primer Potion? ~runs from angry mob~

January was certainly a month of coconut loving. The VS Fantasies Coconut Passion Mist has become my signature scent. There are only two Victoria Secret stores in England (as far as I know) but my housemate kindly picked this up for me when she went home for Christmas. The coconut and vanilla scent smells absolutely delicious - it's perfect for any girl that loves sweet fragrances.

I'm not going to lie, the main reason I love Café De Bain's Coconut Macaroon Shower Crème is for the packaging. How can you not love those Parisian style illustrations? It smoothes on really nicely and adds a bit of luxury to my every day shower. The smell actually reminds me of a Bueno chocolate bar haha!

Finally in my coconut trio is the Original Source Coconut Shower Gel. It leaves me feeling squeaky clean and my skin has felt noticeably smoother thanks to the natural moisturisers (not drastically, but it's definitely made a difference).

My go to lip colour in January was 'All Fired Up' by MAC. It's a bright fuschia matte so at first I really struggled to wear it over my chapped lips. After using Vaseline's Rosy Lips Lip Therapy underneath, it swiped on beautifully and I have been wearing it practically everyday since! Vaseline's Lip Therapy is also one of my favourites this month but I have lost it and couldn't photograph it wahhh!

That's everything for my January favourites. I would love to know some of yours.

Ciao x

  1. NYX Spice looks like an amazing colour! I really should check out more of their powder blushes. The concealer sounds awesome as well, I wish we could get it over here!
