Summer Fragrance Picks

Here in the sunny South it’s beginning to feel a lot like Summer and I don’t know about you but I’m ready to crack the Summer fragrances out. Here are my top picks this year...

Escada 'Turquoise Summer': For a young, sweet scent Escada’s 'Turquoise Summer' is my number one choice. It smells just like a blue slush puppy and who doesn’t want to smell like a slush puppy? It’s fruity notes and vanilla undertones make it perfect for a gorgeous Summers day. This deliciously sweet scent comes in a playful blue bottle complete with a pink butterfly. If you buy a 30ml bottle now from Debenhams you can also get a complimentary pair of matching headphones. Shut up and take my money!
Top Notes:  Pineapple, Strawberry, Raspberry, Blackcurrant
Heart Notes: Peach, Violet Orange Blossom
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Musk

Roberto Cavalli 'Paradiso': Imagine you’re on a sun lounger, on the roof of a luxurious cruise liner, gliding through the  Mediterranean sea….well turn that into a fragrance and bottle it and that’s what you have with Roberto Cavalli's 'Paradiso'. Everything about this fragrance oozes elegance and class, from the diamond inspired bottle to the scent itself. It’s a beautiful blend of citrusy, mandarin notes with heart notes of wild jasmine & woody undertones, making it the perfect choice for a summery evening date.
Top Notes:  Bergamot & Mandarin
Heart Notes: Jasmine
Base Notes: Cypress, Parasol Pine & Pink Laurel

Giorgio Armani 'Si' Eau De Toilette: For a more womanly scent, Giorgio Armani’s Si EDT is a great choice. Top notes of pear and mandarin complimented by blackcurrant, freesia and rose de mai make for such a graceful, girly scent – just think Ariana Grande in a bottle. I love the original Si all year round but this new Eau De Toilette is a slightly fresher, fruitier scent, perfect for the warmer months.
Top Notes:  Blackcurrant, Green Pear, Italian bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli
Heart Notes: Freesia & Rose de Mai
Base Notes: Musk, Amber Wood, Vanilla & Patchouli

Jimmy Choo 'Exotic' and 'Blossom': I'm loving Jimmy Choo's flirty, vivacious scents right now, especially 'Blossom' and 'Exotic'. 'Blossom' is a modern cocktail of red berries, citrus and rose with the pink infused, diamond-esque bottle making it perfect for a girls night out.
Top Notes:  Citrus & Red Berries
Heart Notes: Sweet Pea & Rose
Base Notes: Sandalwood & White Musk
'Exotic' is a deeper, more alluring scent infused with tiger orchids, blackcurrant sorbet and pink grapefruit. The teal bottle is more demure than Blossom's and is the perfect poolside fragrance.
Top Notes:  Blackcurrant Sorbet & Pink Grapefruit
Heart Notes: Tiger Orchid & Passion Flower
Base Notes: Raspberry & Indonesian Patchouli

Marc Jacobs 'Daisy Sorbet' and 'Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet' - Marc Jacobs' new Sorbet editions of 'Daisy' and 'Daisy Eau So Fresh' really pack a punch. They are a fruity twist on their more florally counterparts, with Daisy Sorbet carrying notes of passionfruit, pink grapefruit & pear and Daisy Eau So Fresh carrying hints of mandarin. As always the bottles are gorgeously pretty and the fragrances themselves have a fresh, Summer kick. If you're into milder scents like Daisy Dream then these might not be for you, but I personally love them!
Daisy Sorbet -
Top Notes:  Pink Grapefruit, Pear & Passionfruit
Heart Notes: Wisteria, Jasmine & Lily-of-the-Valley
Base Notes: Violet, Cedar & Musk

Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet -
Top Notes:  Mandarin, Apple Blossom & Lotus
Heart Notes: Magnolia, Jasmine and Violet
Base Notes: Woody Notes & Musk

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree: When it comes to packaging, Thierry Mugler have got it spot on this Summer. The pastel pink and lilac candy striped box and sugar-dipped, blue star bottle for Angel Eau Sucree is totally adorable and definitely makes me feel more Summery. Angel Eau Sucree is a sweet, candied version of their original 'Angel' scent with notes of red fruit sorbet, caramalized meringue and vanilla making it smell delicious. It's a light, girly scent that isn't overpowering but is long lasting.
Top Notes:  Red Fruits
Heart Notes: Caramalized Meringue
Base Notes: Vanilla & Patchouli

Nina Ricci 'Les Delices de Nina': The new limited edition Nina Ricci fragrance, is a strawberry candy inspired version of the original fragrance. The trademark apple bottle is a bubble gum pink, with melting gold "caramel" which totally suits this fresh, fruity, sweet scent. The base notes of praline are so delicious!
Top Notes: Lemon & Mandarin Orange
Heart Notes: Big Strawberry & Caramel
Base Notes: Praline, White Musk & Raspberry

Dolce & Gabbana 'Light Blue Sunset In Salina' (Limited Edition): For a more "grown up" Summer fragrance, Dolce & Gabbana's latest Light Blue eau de toilette is the way to go. It's a very fresh, everyday scent with florally notes. This being said it's most definitely not an "old lady smell" and is actually fairly sweet.
Top Notes:  Vitis Vinifera & Violet Leaf
Heart Notes: Yellow Freesia, Jasmine & Orange Blossom
Base Notes: Amber, Cedar & White Musk

DKNY Delicious Delights 'Dreamsicle': My final Summer Fragrance pick this year, is DKNY's Dreamsicle. Part of the new Delicious Delights trio, Dreamiscle has the perfect balance of fruity & creamy notes. Mandarin, raspberry and blackcurrant make up the top notes, with a background of vanilla and sandalwood creating a deliciously rich scent. It's slightly more affordable than the rest of the fragrances I've picked out and is definitely worth mentioning!
Top Notes:  Mandarin, Blackcurrant & Raspberry
Heart Notes: Green Apple, Peach Nectar & Apricot Sorbet
Base Notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood & Vanilla
