Working 9 to 5 | Badger Box Review

badger box review
It's no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with quirky home ware, stationery and lifestyle accessories (it’s becoming a bit of an addiction, I must say), so you can imagine my delight when I received the latest Badger Box*. The awesome people at The Clever Badger put together imaginative, themed subscription boxes every month packed with lots of weird and wonderful items from all over the world. I was like a kid a Christmas when my box arrived and couldn't wait to dive into the goodies they had sent.

The theme of this month's box was 'Working 9 to 5' and was pretty much a work survival kit. The box satisfied my washi tape cravings with two brightly patterned tapes from Unwrap Colour and added to my quirky eraser collection with little cactus erasers. Sprinkled inside were lots of colourful paperclips and a glittery, pink bulldog clip. (I actually wish they had more of the bulldog clips - they were so adorable!). My favourite item is the uh-mazing letterpress, Dolly Parton Coaster from Smokey Road Press in Athens. Obviously they had to include a Dolly Parton gift with the theme being 9 to 5, and I love the quotes on it. It says "If you want a rainbow, you have to put up with rain" and "Find out who you are and do it on purpose".

This adorable 'Plan of Attack' desk pad from Ohh Deer was one of my favourite items in the box and will be super handy for getting organised with my blog and uni work. Each Badger Box comes with a specially commissioned item and this month it's a fab set of pencils from I AM A London. You all know how much I love my quote pencils and I definitely had a little giggle at the ones in my box. I'm sure we all have someone we'd like to give the 'Fudge Off' one to - am I right? I also got a little white pencil sharpener to sharpen my new pencils up!

The hilarious unicorn sticker is by illustrator Nicola Rowlands - if I knew unicorn stickers were a thing, my room would have been covered in them a long time ago! The box even includes a bag of gummy bears, some sherbet straws and a little sachet of Twinings tea! I'm not a hot drinks kind of gal but it's a nice touch for those in need of a caffeine fix.

All the items were enveloped in brightly coloured tissue, with some items individually wrapped with cute polka dot paper and stickers. Each box comes with an insert with lots of product information, all of which is cleverly worded and packed with personality. I do think the boxes could benefit from sturdier, securer packaging as I'd hate for all the lovely goodies inside to be damaged, however, this is something The Clever Badger are working on so I'm excited to see what ideas they come up with.

Overall I am so happy with my Badger Box -  it's such a unique, breath of fresh air to the subscription box market and adds a little bit of sunshine to your month. I wouldn't normally subscribe to a monthly box but this one totally floats my boat and I know I'd be getting something completely different each time. Currently it's £16 for a rolling subscription, £18 for a one off box ( I personally think these would make fab gifts!) or £50 for three months of boxes. Next month's theme is Across the Universe so head over The Clever Badger now to make sure you don't miss out!
