Bloggers Fashion Week | London

On Monday I was lucky enough to attend the Bloggers Fashion Week in London. Our venue for the day was the OXO building in Blackfriars, home to lots of little creative shops. It was a fabulous setting overlooking Blackfriars Bridge and the river. The dress code was “All Black Chic” and everybody had such a unique take on the theme. As I entered the event, the world’s coolest DJ, Fabienne, was playing Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off. You all know I love a bit of Tay Swift, so I knew it was going to be an amazing day.

I got chatting to a few of the excellent brands starting with Motel Rocks, a British vintage-inspired clothing company. They had lots of eclectic pieces and gave me such a generous gift bag. Goodies included the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara which has been on my wishlist for ages - I was so happy! I made my way around all the stalls including True Brit, Magnitone London, Little Ondine, Maison Ves & Knomi. Great Lengths were fitting human hair extensions throughout the event. I’ve never had extensions or dyed my hair before so I opted for turquoise extensions! I loved seeing my hair with a pop of colour - it’s safe to say I’m a hair extension convert.

After I had my hair done, it was time for the first two catwalks. Strutting down the aisle in a beautiful kimono, was a very familiar face - Hello Miss Jordan! I stopped by after the show to say hi and it was lovely to meet her in real life. She was very sweet and did an awesome job of the catwalk.

I carried on looking through the brands and whilst waiting for Paul & Joe’s representative to be available, I got chatting to two lovely Youtubers: Sophie and Emma. We quickly bonded over PLL and I ended up spending the rest of the day with them. At 3 we took a quick break. Sophie, Emma and I decided to grab some lunch as we were all starving! After taking in the sights (and getting a bit too excited about passing the This Morning studios), we headed to Giraffe. We ended up spending a good two hours in there, chatting & eating. Poor Sophie was nearly poisoned by unwanted mushrooms in her chicken katsu, but she lived to tell the tale - phew!

At 6 the second lot of brands were ready to network. Unfortunately Sophie & Emma had to go shortly after but I stayed for a couple of hours to network with other bloggers and brands. I met some lovely girls including Aura, Hayley & Rosie. There was a final catwalk, full of beautiful, floaty ombred pieces. I called it a day and headed for my coach home, only to bump into Bianca Spendlove & Jessica Forrest (aka Texas and Leanne from Hollyoaks)! They were so lovely! My phone was on 1% battery but thankfully held out long enough for me to get a selfie with them.

As I walked back down past the river and set off for home I couldn’t help but feel totally elated. Just over a year ago I was sat in my bedroom in a dead end town that quite frankly, I hated. I wasn’t happy and I knew I wanted to leave. Flash forward to Monday and there I was, heading back to my new home by the beach after spending a day with two lovely girls, meeting people I’d never think I’d ever meet and all because of blogging. I’m very grateful that I get to do these kind of things now and honestly, it was one of the best days of my life.
