10 Happy Things #4

It feels like ages since I last did a "10 Happy Things" post. I didn't do one for a couple of weeks because, well, I wasn't actually very happy. The 24th September is my Mam's death anniversary and for the two weeks surrounding that date, I'm usually quite down. I thought about uploading a few posts dedicated to her but then I decided I just wanted to take some time away to deal with the pain.

I'm back to my normal, happy self now and I've got lots of happy things to tell you about!

1. I'm up for a Cosmo Award!  As you may have seen in my last post,  I'm up for the 'Best Use of Photography' award in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2015. I'm still in shock to be honest and would love if you could all vote for me HERE.

2. I feel loved Since finding out I'm up for an award I've really been feeling the love. So many lovely bloggers sent me the sweetest congratulations messages and lots of people I know in real life have been voting for me. Even people I have kind of drifted from or haven't spoken to in years have been backing me and I feel so loved!
3. I met Louise Pentland!! I've been a huge fan of Louise aka Sprinkle of Glitter for a while and I've always wanted to meet her. I finally got the chance on Tuesday, when I went along to her diary signing in Waterstones, Piccadilly. I was one of the first to arrive, got the best seat and had such an amazing time. I got two selfies with her but I look hideous in both so I won't share them here haha!
4. She also shared my drawing of her! I've actually drawn Louise a few times (HERE and HERE) and each time she has been kind enough to share them on her social media. Since I knew I was going to be meeting her, I wanted to draw her something special to give her in person. I drew her as Elsa and Darcy as Anna from Frozen (as they're both big Disney fans). I'm really happy with how it turned out and so pleased that she shared it on her Tumblr even though I had already given it to her in real life.

5. I got the most adorable slipper socks. Primark have so many cute things lately and one thing I couldn't resist were these adorable Despicable Me, unicorn slipper socks! "They're so fluffy, I'm gunna die!". (I've actually got lots of Primark things lately so I'll probably do a haul soon!)
6. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas I'm definitely one of those people who starts getting excited for Christmas way too early, I'm practically Buddy the Elf to be honest. A lot of shops have started stocking their Christmas things and I can't get enough of it. I've already been eyeing up the John Lewis decorations, the Lush Christmas range and lots of Christmas jumpers in Primark.  I'm so excited!
7. There's going to be a new Disney Princess! You should all know by now I'm a total Disney fan girl and they've been announcing so many amazing things lately (including Toy Story 4, The Lion Guard and The Incredibles 2) but what I'm most excited for is their new Disney Princess, Moana! And what's more one of my all time favourite people, The Rock, is also going to be starring in the movie. Squeeee!

8. My favourite person won GBBO. (Don't read further if you haven't watched The Great British Bake Off Final). I was so happy to see Nadiya crowned the winner of this year's GBBO. She's been my favourite for a while and I thought she was hilarious to watch. She also has the same name as my sister haha! Well done Nadiya!

9. Work has been fun. Work has been a laugh lately. I've had some really lovely customers and there's been a lot of banter (I hate that word but I couldn't think of another one lol) so it's been more fun than usual.

10. My nephew can say "Mama" This is bittersweet as one of the hardest things about moving away is not being able to see my family as much. My baby nephew is now 6 months and is saying "Mama". My sister sent me a cute video of him and he's the cutest little chunk. I hope I get to go back and see them all soon!

I'm super excited for Moana too!!

The highlight of last week for me was taking my dog for a lovely walk which involved a roast dinner stop and trip to the seafront where we had ice cream and pier doughnuts!
