Pet Lamb Patisserie

Last week I took a trip up to Newcastle for a family get together and decided to swing by Pet Lamb Patisserie. Launched by best friends Katie and Kay back in 2009, Pet Lamb Patisserie has grown from a hole in the wall into a firm local favourite. Tucked away in Grainger Market, it's a hidden gem of sweet treats, cakes and pastries. The girls whip up freshly baked goodies each day, with plenty of seasonal and traditional bakes for you to choose from.

I visited just before Christmas so there was an amazing array of festive treats from Eggnog Cake to Christmas Rocky Road. I was treated to a mouthwatering red velvet cheesecake brownie, which is one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. It was a soft, thick slab of yummy chocolate and cream cheese goodness, which was every bit as indulgent as it sounds (I'm tempted to go back to Newcastle for another slice).

Some of the more traditional options included raspberry & nutella brownies, ferrero cupcakes and mocha cupcake truffles, all of which looked (almost) too good to eat. The girls give really generous portions so not only are the bakes irresistibly delicious, they are also excellent value for money!

As well as their shop the girls also offer a custom order service perfect for weddings and special occasions. You can choose from some of their amazing cake flavours including: Popcorn, Coffee & Donut, Elvis and Sweet & Salty Pretzel, all of which are decorated to perfection.

The patisserie itself has an adorable pastel, Americano theme brought to life with signage designed by Ash Willerton and branding designed by Ryan Quickfall. Every inch of the petite shop is bursting with colour and cuteness which really embodies the girls' lively, friendly energy. I didn't get a chance to meet Kay but Katie was extremely lovely throughout my visit and her customer service was the icing on the cake (see what I did there?).

If you're ever in Newcastle be sure to pop into Pet Lamb Patisserie or if that's a bit of a trek swing by Katie's amazing blog HERE and give some of her recipes a go yourself! The girls have also just launched a Youtube channel (HERE) where you can follow even more of their recipes.
