Hello Canvas Prints

As a digital artist, there’s something quite magical about holding a physical copy of your work. That’s why when Hello Canvas* asked if I wanted to try out their printing service, I jumped at the chance.

The process couldn't be easier; simply choose the picture/photo you want to print and the size you want to print it at. You can opt to print on standard canvas or treat yourself to a stunning HD metal, wood or framed print.

I created THIS self portrait during the Cuppa Craft sketchalong and thought it’d be the perfect piece to get printed. It’s based on the love I have for my new home, Portsmouth, particularly the beach and also incorporates one of my favourite Bible verses. I felt printing on wood, would work really well with the beachy theme and I’m super happy with the results.
The ink sits seamlessly against the wood, as if I had hand painted it on there, the wood grain enhancing the illustration beautifully. Whilst the colour has become very slightly washed out, I’m still really impressed with how vibrant it is considering it’s not on a white background.

I opted to have it printed at 16 x 24 inches with a matte finish, which works really well. It’d be the perfect size to hang above a fireplace as the focal decoration of the room. I can imagine something like a wedding photo or a decorative quote working exsquisetly on the wooden background. I’d be really interested to see how the other backgrounds work, in particular a gloss print on HD metal.

For the most part I find Hello Canvas’s service to be pretty affordable and the prints would make fantastic, personal gifts. In fact they are currently offering a 25% discount on all prints for Father’s Day (CODE: DAD25).
